Humour me, flist. It is either keep myself busy on the internets, or go and throw up forever. Nausea is not the boss of me, I say! I say, down with fail and up with FREAKING POINTLESS MEMES! FUN FOR EVERYONE! also I am going to get those 5 Things comments done very very soon, I promise.

On another note, I'm thinking about making this journal semi-friends only. I mean, I lock most of the stuff I don't feel comfortable sharing with the world at large, but I'm thinking of maybe extending that to just everything that isn't either an entirely fandom-related post, or fic. Flist, what are your thoughts? Are you friends-only? What do you think of friends-only journals in general? Has semi-friends only worked for you?

Feel free to join in with one, or both, I really don't mind! I'm off on a new icon gathering haul around LJ, la la la, I must make the most of these two short months with all the userpic spaces, fun fun fun.

Ovid V. Livy - I DISLIKE BOTH OF THEM QUITE INTENSELY. It depends what kind of mood I'm in, to be fair. Sometimes I find Ovid tremendously difficult to translate - JUST A THOUGHT, OVID: WHY NOT PUT IN SOME PUNCTUATION AND ALSO SOME WORDS? - and then I find Livy freaking dull - MILITARY PIECES ARE DULLLL - so, er, that was a bit of a non-answer, but never mind.

Nom nom nom biscuits. This autumn term will be awesome, then! :DDD

I actually enjoy Ovid's Metamorphoses (although I hated the Amores more than anything else ever) and I'm warming up to Livy after having a bit of an epiphany that means I'm SO MUCH LESS SHIT AT TRANSLATING LATIN NOW(!), but some of his military stuff is deathly dull. :)

I don't mind Metamorphoses (although I imagine finding one in the exam would be pretty gads if you didn't know what was going on, because WHAT OVID WHY HAS THAT MAN TURNED INTO A TREE/BIRD/ANACHRONISTIC TELEVISION etc), but what I do mind is his attitude towards all women, ever, particularly that one where he was like, men, take your girlfriend a bird, or similar. NO-ONE WANTS YOUR PIGEON, OVID, EUPHEMISTICALLY OR OTHERWISE.

Urgh - I think I spoke too soon about that epiphany! I just did two Livy unseens that I did well on and was really pleased with, but the one I did today was HORRIBLY HARD and I don't know if I'm going to do very well on it. :(

AND OH GOD YES, there's this awful poem of Ovid's where they go watch the games or something? And he's such a PIG about women and getting them to notice you and it's horrible.
