FINALLY. Good God, this post is about, what, two or three weeks behind? Argh. Here I go blathering about OotP film, with two quite vague references to Deathly Hallows but no out-and-out spoilers. Allusions, that's the word. A touch tl;dr, I apologise.

So, I'm glad about that because OotP is my favourite of the books. Please, for the love of God, someone come and talk to me about the film in the comments? I might die otherwise. My mother has passed her capacity to listen to me go GAY GAY GAY HOTTTT, and I have not surpassed my capacity of screeching, and dear Lord, I might have to go and see it a third time.

Oh, we also went to see the Simpsons Movie on the spur of the moment, afterwards, and I enjoyed it much more than I expected to - it did hold up quality on the big screen, and it did make me laugh, which is really all I wanted.

All in all, AWESOME DAY THANKS. How are you all? Thanks for putting up with my Potter explosion ;)

Earlier today, I was going to make a post about how I was feeling miserable, and had been for several days. This had something to do with all the things I'm looking forward to this summer are things I'm looking forward to, as in not happening right now. Added to that, I appear to be stuck in a wonderful body-image / self-esteem funk of doom (I get into these from time to time - I mean, it's omnipresent, but it gets more severe sometimes, you know?). Blah blah blah blah weight blah blah blah face blah blah blah everything, but! There is a but!

Anyways.

I bought the dvd set of Cagney and Lacey last weekend. Now, see, Cagney and Lacey was my first fandomfandom, before I actually knew what that was. It was before the X-Files. Before Ellen Ripley, actually, and that's going waaaay back.

And I still love it, with a fiery passion. It's cheesy, yes, from the eighties, yes, cop drama, yes, but it's just so wonderful. It was the first programme with two women as the leads, first programme with two women in professional, demanding jobs with lives and a friendship, and it was the friendship that drove it and made it so successful. Like everything, I watch it for the characters and Christine Cagney and Mary-Beth Lacey...I don't know, they just own my heart.

Chris more, though. She is flawed and she knows it, she's ambitious, selfish, driven, gorgeous and completely insecure. She's immature, she's vulnerable, she's hot-headed, she's sarcastic and oh my God, there are no words for how much I love the woman. She was the first character, first person really, to make me think that I could get to where I wanted, do what I wanted, be the person I wanted to be if I just worked at it, and she, God, I don't know, I just adore her.

I'm sorry to ramble at you about such a random topic. My heart is swelling with love for my eighties girls, and this was the closest outlet to hand.

And do you know what bites? ITV3 is showing later episodes, that the BBC never got round to showing, and my Freeview has decided that it isn't going to show ITV3 anymore. *headdesk*

No school today! Thank God for strikes. I mean, ok, so they have a reason to strike, but we? Get a day off school. Add this to the fact that it's a teacher training day on Friday and that means no school then and I am very, very happy. Inundated with work, but still happy.

And productive! Since Friday, I have finished my Classics coursework, finished the first draft of my English Shakespeare coursework and vaguely caught up with History...although I could be doing History now but I can't be bothered, because I spent the morning doing horrible coursework so now I rest. *happy sigh*

Fandom Meme behind the cut. Don't just run away, looky! Here is a sample answer to make you happy!

Um. Less rambling crap, less Vaughn and Sydney angst and more Jack/Irina angst and sexings. Preferably with Irina in some state of undress. Thank you.

Fandom Meme this way. Fun! )

I won't tag anyone, but it would be nice to see some of you doing this!

People, we have to play this. No, really. We have to play this omg.

Leave a list of fictional characters in your journal that you would love to get a message from. Your f- and f-of-list's mission, should they choose to accept it, is to write you an in-character "letter" from a character on that list. Then they post their own list in their journal, and the process continues!

Characters and fun this-a way. Click here. Please?! )

Come on, 'twill be fun. It will.

Haven't updated for a while I think. Or maybe I have, I don't know. Anyway, this entry won't be long. Just to say that I made a new Tilda!Witch icon, which you can see if you click to leave a comment (cunningly, this makes everyone go onto the comment page!).

In other news, I handed in the chemistry coursework of dooooooooom today. I do not want to get the grade for that. Failure. Much of that. My English teacher is being huffy because she can't find anything to poke holes at in my original writing coursework and my Maths teacher? HATES ME. Ok, she came up to get my maths homework off me and she said "Maths". I mean, what the hell does that mean?? We were in a Maths lesson! Honestly. Gah.

Fandom related note: Alias? Mine forever. I'm trying to keep Season 2 pretty much untouched until half term (2 WEEKS!! HEE! Freedom!) so that a) I have something to watch and b) I don't go stir crazy and spend money I don't have on Alias season 3. Or 4. Or both. It seems to be working, but I want Iriiiina. Will content myself with angsty/alcholic!Jack. Poor baby.

Also need to keep the money for when Goblet of Fire comes out on dvd (Miranda!! Lucius and his swishy, swishy hair!) so cannot afford to buy new things. Which is bad, because I know I'll want more Alias and I know I'll want Scrubs Season 3 and then I want House and then I want...so many, many things.

Oooh, this is a bit long to not have a cut thing. Sorry for the cluttering of the friends pages!

*blows kisses*
