I would just like to say here, above the cut, that this was ridiculously difficult to watch.

Lolol I have so many other things I should actually be doing right now. But! In true Moog-style, I shall completely ignore them in favour of twatting about on the internets. Join me in procrastination as I do that Five Things meme, from [livejournal.com profile] lovestories. If you want to play, comment and I shall think of questions to throw at your faces.

(spoilers for Being Human episodes aired so far, but reeeeeally mild ones, and in picture form)

Why do I always write so much for these things, what. (unexpectedly image-heavy) )

Well, that was a bit longer than expected.

On a different note, does anyone know where I might find myself a League of Gentlemen moodtheme?

Augh, I've had this flu-bug type thing for the last week, and while it's mostly gone now, let me tell you, M.E. does not get on with having additional illness shoved on top of it. SUCK IT UP, M.E.; I NEED TO GET THIS COURSEWORK DONE.

Before I move on, can I just say a really HUGE thank you to everyone who put up with the whiny texts from me, and who joined me in texting inane and random things back and forth all day every day: you have kept me sane when members of my family couldn't communicate with me for fear of catching the death bug, and as my only links to staying sane, you were AMAZING to the extent that I cannot properly express my gratitude. ♥ okay, many, many ♥ (and to [livejournal.com profile] lo0o0ony_lauren, who had the joy of trying to organize something with me while my brain could barely remember what my name was, you are a better woman than I, my sweet).

ANYWAY. It was a great great thing that on Monday, the first day that I was basically incapable of getting off the sofa without falling down (no, really; it would have been hilarious had it not hurt), the complete League of Gentlemen boxset arrived on my doormat. And then it didn't leave my eyes until Saturday.

Could I find screencaps (FAIL), I would be doing a picspam as we speak. Well, er, not right now, because I need to go do yoga and make dinner to be ready for Being Human at 9 (hurrah!), but soon.

This entry is pointless; here is Mark Gatiss to make that better. )

So that was literally amazing.

Being Human 1x01 - the fact that I can write that makes me a bit ridiculously happy, okay - and the trailer for next week. )

Being Human tonight! *does a little dance*

BBC3, 9:00 - and apparently the first three minutes are important, so, er, I will have to get myself making dinner and timing stuff properly: without fail, I usually miss the first few minutes of something on tv if I make dinner to eat with it, mainly because I time the making of the food well but then forget to factor in the fact that I am unable to leave the kitchen messy, so I have to clean before I can eat (the microwave is my friend, otherwise I would have many, many cold dinners).

This is in no way a proper post (fail), so here is a quick rundown of the things I have been doing:

a) feeling dizzy

b) watching Derren Brown dvds until my eyes fall out.

Despite my ordering four things on the same day, Play have only sent me two of them so far - and another thing I ordered afterwards has already been posted. DDD: Play. I want moar Derren (shut up, I now have no money but I do have many entertainments).

Sadly, the deadline for my [livejournal.com profile] reel_merlin fic is slooooowly creeping up on me, with nothing being written for it. BUT! I shall rally, I am sure.

(Apologies: I manged to hit enter before posting, so ONLY HALF MY WORDS were posted just then. My brain is obviously not working with me today)

I shall, at some point soon, do a post with a round-up of last year's fic in (I will), but, er, before then there will probably be moar thoughts on Being Human. George! Mitchell! George and Mitchell and Annie!

QUICK PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I shall be watching BSG 4.5 two weeks behind the UK. I do not want any spoilers. Like, at all. And if I find out who the final cylon is before I see it revealed on the show? PEOPLE MAY DIE.

Er, that is to say: please, please, BSG-people, please lj-cut posts about it.

RIGHT THIS POST IS ENTIRELY POINTLESS: I will attempt to bestow order upon it by making it a numbered list of rubbish, instead of just me saying stuff in no order. Bow to my superior nonsensical skillz.

1. I'm off to see 'The Oresteia' in February, in York (awesome). Clytemnestra is one of my favourite women in the classical world, and I love the Oresteia for, like, showing her as bitchy and petty instead of whiny and weak like approximately many other texts.

2. Does anyone else find it difficult not to just go spending all their money in one big splurge when they finally have some to spend? My birthday/Christmas money is burning a big fat hole in my, er, bank account.

3. Being Human starts on BBC3 on Sunday 25th January! Moar George and Mitchell! Apparently the first few minutes are crucial, according to the BBC, so get ye sat promptly. Admittedly, this is a bit of a challenge for me, as I usually miss the first couple of minutes of things due to underestimating how long making my dinner will take. DD:

4. ALSO pilates continues to be unbelievably amazing. I can't say what, if anything, it's doing for my weight, as I seem to be unable to actually stop eating like a total heifer, but it's definitely making me more flexy-bendy, and, without wanting to sound like a total wanker, it feels like something I do entirely for myself, like I'm just taking these 10 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes/half an hour in the evening to ignore everything else that might be going on and focus on just stretching that little bit further.

5. I've been re-watching Grey's Anatomy. I still like Meredith. I still like McDreamy whilst simultaneously wanting to punch him in the face a lot. I still like Meredith/McDreamy, and do not like Izzie. I am quite clearly a fandom pariah (I should really do an unpopular fandom opinion post, except then you would all de-friend me and I would be cast out into the cold space of lj all adrift and alone and whatnot)

6. I'll do a fic round-up of 2008 soonly: it will have markedly fewer fics in than the one for 2007 had, but then 2007 did have the advantage of having Life On Mars take over my brain and force me to ignore revision in favour of writing the gay. Who needs an edcayshun, amirite?

7. I want to write some Derren Brown/David Tennant. Would anyone be interested?

8. I have already written David Tennant/Matt Smith. Er. idk how that happened.

Belatedly, happy new year! I hope you all have a fantbulously brillisome 2009, right?

WHY

Why is that I can't write anything for ages and then when I do write something, it's ridiculously obscure and a bit rubbish? Never mind, it was good to write, even if I can't write Prior (argh).

Right: Being Human was a pilot drama recently on BBC Three about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost sharing a flat, but that description just doesn't do it justice - it was funny, and touching, and so sodding well-written, and here's hoping it gets commissioned for a full season really really soon.

Regeneration is a trilogy of books written by Pat Barker about WW1, and soldiers therein, dealing with the issues of male relationships, and madness, and it's set in the war hospital Craiglockhart, and I can't tell you to read it enough. The first book in the trilogy is called Regeneration, go now.

Anyway, fic.

Title: Breaking Bread
Fandom: Regeneration/Being Human
Pairing: Prior/Mitchell
Rating: High pg13, probably.
Disclaimer: Regeneration is not mine; everyone fictional is the property of Pat Barker, everyone real belongs to themselves. Being Human is not mine either, but BBC Three should TOTALLY make it theirs, and quickly. I am making no profit from this.
Summary: "One day, there’s another man eating breakfast with them. He’s pale. He’s tall. He’s new. "
