On another note, I'm thinking about making this journal semi-friends only. I mean, I lock most of the stuff I don't feel comfortable sharing with the world at large, but I'm thinking of maybe extending that to just everything that isn't either an entirely fandom-related post, or fic. Flist, what are your thoughts? Are you friends-only? What do you think of friends-only journals in general? Has semi-friends only worked for you?

I think I found you through some BSG-related thing, and, er, fell a bit in love with the way you worded your entries, and what you were working for (you were doing your A-Levels at the time, oh my god, I have just realised that I am now doing what you were doing when we first started talking, what the hell, that is a bit terrifying) - yayyy, St. Andrew's - and then I lurked around lurkishly on your journal being too scared to say actual words at you because of your awesomeness. My journal's friends only, essentially, but all fic and the odd meme/entierly-fandomy post goes up public; if I posted more often (this week doesn't count) and didn't cram all kinds of things into one epic fortnightly entry there would probably be less flocked stuff. That seems to work just fine for me, but I'd be more comfortable putting things out there if my old director hadn't found my LJ when I was about fourteen and rkgnelkyre awkwardness. So!

Sebastian:

- He really was in love with Charles, utterly and completely. He ended up in Morocco because it was the only place that was different enough to his surroundings in England, or in Venice, that he could stop thinking about him.
- He secretly wishes he could have got along better with his mother, and regrets, slightly, that they became so alienated from one another. In another life, perhaps, he would like to think that she accepted him more, and he antagonised her less, and maybe they would never be as close as some families, but they could at least agree to disagree, and maybe enjoy each other's company on occasion.
- It took him years to actually like the taste of alcohol; certainly his first term at Oxford was spent bluffing about how well he could hold his drink. He doesn't think Charles knows this; however, Charles thinks it is because Sebastian spent so long convincing other people he liked to drink that he stopped being able to tell when enough was enough, and if he'd cared a little bit less about maintaining an image, he might not have ended up the way he did.

Pauline (AFGH, why haven't you seen the third season? MY CANON ENCOMPASSES THAT, but I shall hold off on the spoiiilers):

- She has a desk at home in which every drawer is filled with pens, all of them in their own individually-labelled, hand-made little pen-beds.
- She once sucked half the ink out of a gel pen to see what it tasted like, and then was sick in bright magenta for two whole days.
- She thinks Mickey would make a really good fireman, but she's too afraid to tell him in case he doesn't want to see her once he's finally got a job; what she doesn't know is, he would want to see her even if he became a millionaire, because she makes him feel special, despite the bullying.

If I didn't friend you, I definitely remember thinking I should because I'd seen you around in DW fandom somewhere, and then when I wandered into a Green Wing community and there you were with your Ten/Mac icon of wonderment, I thought, yes, this is a person I need to know!

Actually, I associate you with Hamlet, weirdly enough, because of Tennant's highly attractive run in that, and mainly I think about theatre in connection with you because you post about it so often! :DDD Er, I should add that the Hamlet association is solely because of Tennant and not because of, er, any ridiculous tragic melodrama or skulls or ALAS POOR YORICKING or anything like that.

Awww, ILU. And I still cannot believe you lurked because you thought I was too awesome to approach. That is VERY SWEET and VERY MAD.
I shall make it all even more terrifying by saying that we met while I was doing my A-Levels and now you are doing A-Levels and I am very nearly in my final year of university (note to self: fuuuuuuck).
I cannot remember how we actually met and because of what. I don't think it was BSG, though very early on in our friendship, you got into BSG.
We watched Calendar Girls when I visited the first time? I HAVE A MEMORY LIKE A SIEVE.

For many many years, I wanted to be a fashion or costume designer and I had the plan of going to fashion college in London. But then I decided I wasn't truly good enough and that I should really get a Proper Degree (which I do not regret, not really).

BSG is utter shite right now. I have very nearly lost allll interest in it. This makes me sad, but it is true. They are completely ruining Laura and this kills me. :(

- He totally did sleep with Christopher Miracle. They pretend they were both drunk, and neither of them remember. This is not true: Lucifer does, but he is willing to pretend otherwise if Christopher is more comfortable that way.

Derren Brown (oh dear, you might regret asking this, I tend to go a bit mental):

- He and Tennant and Mark Gatiss are all BFFs. Like, FOREVER. He and Mark bond over their love of Victoriana, and he and Tennant bond because they are both massive dorks, and Derren is the only one of them that can actually cook, so he tends to be the one to host evenings together: Tennant sometimes has a go, but then they end up getting a takeaway once they see the end product, and Mark doesn't even try anymore - if they go to his house, Derren cooks there, or they just order something straight away.
- They don't talk about the last time Mark tried to cook.
- He kind of doesn't like Reece Shearsmith but gets on with him because they are both really good friends with Mark, and neither of them want to upset him in any way.
- CONFLICTING PERSONAL CANON: he and Reece get on really well because they both love magic so much.
- He talks to the moose-head on his walls.
- When he's bored, he tries to count in his head. In Braille.
- He may or may not be a vampire/time lord/secret ukulele player/pig farmer who has abandoned his family estate/the man from the moon.

WHAT WHAT, I DON'T EVEN KNOW, OKAY. Also we are totes watching some League when I come and stay. You have no choice in the matter.

Caroline:

- She's actually quite glad Sue White kissed her: she's always wanted to know what it would be like to kiss a woman, but she's always been a bit afraid to try, in case it made her a lesbian and she had to renounce men forever and live with twenty cats and start using handkerchiefs and stop shaving her legs.
- Sometimes she wonders what would have happened if she had chosen Guy. Sometimes she wishes she had.
- The thing she is most proud of in her life is having become a doctor. At the same time, she would have quite liked to have had a job selling coffee in Starbucks forever, with no responsibility and free muffins, but this is just because she tends to panic under pressure and then every option apart from the one she is currently pursuing looks more tempting.
- She once ate a tin of baked beans without warming them up, because her microwave was broken and she didn't want to get a pan dirty, and she quite liked it.

Mitchell:

- The first person he slept with after becoming a vampire was Herrick. It was quick, and it didn't mean much at all, and it was in a cold alleyway in the dead of night. Mitchell told him to keep his uniform on, and Herrick had looked at him like he could see every thought Mitchell had ever had, and Mitchell just pressed his front into the wall so he could only see the bricks in front of his eyes, and thought about blood, and nothing else until they were both fastening themselves up again afterwards.
- After meeting George for the first time, he cried, because to do what they were planning took a kind of bravery he didn't know he had. It was one of the first things he'd done, in this second life, that he was proud of doing.
