Humour me, flist. It is either keep myself busy on the internets, or go and throw up forever. Nausea is not the boss of me, I say! I say, down with fail and up with FREAKING POINTLESS MEMES! FUN FOR EVERYONE! also I am going to get those 5 Things comments done very very soon, I promise.

On another note, I'm thinking about making this journal semi-friends only. I mean, I lock most of the stuff I don't feel comfortable sharing with the world at large, but I'm thinking of maybe extending that to just everything that isn't either an entirely fandom-related post, or fic. Flist, what are your thoughts? Are you friends-only? What do you think of friends-only journals in general? Has semi-friends only worked for you?

Feel free to join in with one, or both, I really don't mind! I'm off on a new icon gathering haul around LJ, la la la, I must make the most of these two short months with all the userpic spaces, fun fun fun.

1) Comment and I will:

1) Tell you why I friended you.
2) Associate you with a song/film.
3) Tell a random fact about you.
4) Tell a first memory about you.
5) Associate you with a character/pairing.
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
7) Show you my favourite user pic of yours.
8) In retort, you must spead this disease in your LJ. (except, you don't have to do this at all, whatever meme rules, I openly defy you)
.

2) Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them from my own personal pseudo-canon.

(Also, I really don't mind if you pick more than one character, but no more than three please, because there are LIMITS TO MY BRAIN.)

BASICALLY I JUST WANT TO BUM AROUND THE INTERNET FOR A BIT; WHO'S WITH ME?

1) Tell you why I friended you. LEAGUE asbdkjbfkjb, that picspam of yours about favourite characters. it was the first League picspam I had seen, and, er, I nearly fell over with delight.
2) Associate you with a song/film. Watchmen! That's a film! I associate you with that!
3) Tell a random fact about you. You... live in Germany? lolol I am rubbish at this meme. On a side-note, I kind of want to learn German - I hear it's an easier language to learn than the romance languages. I KNOW NO GERMAN AT ALL, APART FROM 'SHIT', 'SHIT-HOUSE', 'HELLO' AND 'THANK YOU'. SO USEFUL.
4) Tell a first memory about you. Having known you for all of one day, I immediately exposed the entirety of my inner crazy and Mark/Reece shipping brain, and had a loooooong conversation with you about Mark and Reece and shoes and socks, which was AMAZING.
5) Associate you with a character/pairing. I think we can safely say that this will be Shoe Man and Sock Boy! (and also Shoe Man/Sock Boy, which is less wrong than it sounds, because we know that Sock Boy is not actually a boy.)
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. What are you currently doing? University? Studying what? What do you want to do in the future? WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FLAVOUR OF ICE-CREAM? QUESTIONNNNS. ALSO: Harry Potter. What are your thoughts?
7) Show you my favourite user pic of yours. Image is gorgeous. I also like Image, Image and Image.

I WANT AN ICON ABOUT THE NEUTRAL OBSERVERS.

SHOE MAN/SOCK BOY = THE OTP-est OTP OF THEM ALL! :D

Ahaha, so many questions, so little time!
Well, I'm studying German and English literature as well as German linguistics at university, but I took the last semester off due to all this health problems stuff. I'll be back again in April. :)
What I want to do when I grow up, which I will NEVER do after that? Hm, I'm still sort of aiming for a job in publishing, which would be quite awesome, I think.
VANILLA ICE CREAM > ALL! (Best served in a shoe, says Mark.)
Oh, Harry Potter! I loved the books as a kid and I still love them now that I'm... well, still not all that grown up, apparently. The movies are also fun, even though they only show a very small glimpse into that world. And the books, well, I love them. I think I might have said that before. XD

ALL THE QUESTIONS LOL LOL LOL

- Blurgh, health getting in the way of schooling; I feel your pain. Not, er, literally. YOU GET MY POINT.
- Publishinggg! I'm thinking of going into editing because a) I am picky, b) I like to read things over and over and over again and c) BEING PEDANTIC FOR A LIVING? AWESOME.
- Pssssh, what's wrong with chocolate ice-cream?
- Who are your favourite characters? I heart the Marauders (SHOEBOXXX), and Harry (he might actually be my favourite), and Hermione, and the Malfoys, and Bellatrix, and EVERYONE EVER EXCEPT NEVILLE. What about ships? I APPARENTLY REALLY LOVE POTTER, I AM RIDICULOUS.

Edmund Chinnery:

- When he was little, the only thing he wanted to do was to work with animals. Now, after everything that's happened, the only thing he wants to do is to be able to work with animals, or, failing that, not to work with them.
- He wants to own a pet, but he can't.
- Despite everything, he's glad he went to Royston Vasey. He believes that challenges bring out the true side to a person, and he's glad to have found out what he's really like: he doesn't give up.
- He hopes he hasn't ruined things for any descendants he might have.
- He marries a woman who is allergic to animals. This serves two purposes: one, he loves her, so he would have married her if she had been a midget and painted bright blue, and two, he is able to pretend that he cannot own a pet because it would injure her health, almost as though he had a normal reason, and not because he would injure the pet.
- He didn't hold his son for a week after he was born, in case the curse applied to children as well.
- He has never been as grateful as when he found out it didn't.

OH HAI
I BOUGHT WATCHMEN TODAY

RHYYYYME

AWESOMENESS! :D

I LOVE ALL THIS WATCHMEN LOVE ALL OVER MY F-LIST! *CLINGS TO EVERYONE*

Well, according to my brand new Watchmen/Who crossover canon, our dear Ozy is an incarnation of the Master, so this does make sense in a way. XD

Nooooo, how is Ozy the Master? ...also, is it wrong that I take his side? what what what.

It all kinda came together in the madness that was this post and the comments that followed. XD
Nah, definitely not wrong. (See how Watchmen always brings out the lit student in me. God, I'm boring. XD) I adore all of those characters, even though they're deeply flawed and often a rather dark shade of morally gray. These aren't really characters you're supposed to like, but you still do because they're incredibly fascinating.
Also: Matthew Goode is one charming bastard, and how could anyone resist him? ;D

Also. Also. MARK HAS ICE-CREAM SERVED IN A SHOE, LOL LOL LOL I JUST READ THAT PROPERLY.

He tried giving Reece some ice-cream in a sock, but it leaked and Mark was sad DDD: HE JUST WANTED TO DO SOMETHING NICE.

I ALSO BOUGHT BRIDESHEAD TODAY. NOW I AM POOR. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT.

ICE CREAM SERVED IN SHOES. COULD BE A GREAT BUSINESS IDEA. OR NOT. XD

I ALSO BOUGHT A BUNCH OF COMICS AND DVDs RECENTLY, SO WE'RE BOTH POOR NOW.

I've got Brideshead on my laptop right now and will probably watch it tonight as part of my WatchMarathon. One movie per Watchmen cast member. :D

Ooooh, Merlin, QI and DW!

I've never really got into comic fandom at all, but I see the appeal! One of my favourites that I have read (er, well, I suppose it's a ~*graphic novel*~ is Neverwhere as a graphic novel: it is amazing, I cannot even begin to express my love for it. In fact, Neverwhere is one of my all-time favourite books, ever, so maybe I am a bit biased.

HERE IS A SHALLOW OBSERVATION: MATTHEW GOODE IS APPROXIMATELY 48267826387 TIMES PRETTIER THAN BOOK!ADRIAN.

GAIMAN LOVE! :D
Ooooh, I haven't read the Neverwhere graphic novel yet. But I have read Neverwhere, of course. Speaking of Gaiman and comics: SANDMAN. READ. DO IT. FOR IT IS AMAZING BEYOND WORDS.

Indeed, he is! And the other way round, it was a bit weird to get used to Matt as Adrian at first when we only had picture evidence, but he did such a great job in the movie! <3

SANDMANNN. I keep looking at it in the shops :DDD One of these days, I will definitely buy it.

Speaking of Watchmen pictures, do you happen to know where I can find early posters/promo pictures of I think each (or at least some of) the characters, individually, like, standing in one of the sets? I seem to remember seeing some on my flist aaaaaages ago - I think there was one of the Comedian, and the person who posted it was all happy that here was a picture of Sally Jupiter on the wall, or smth - does this ring any bells at all, or am I just going mad? (shut up).

Hunter, in the graphic novel, is. Just. ajskjadjka. And the way the Marquis is drawn makes me go a little bit mental.

It really is absolutely amazing. There just isn't any other way to describe it. <3

Hm, this is a pretty good source for all kinds of Watchmen-related pictures. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for!
(Also: Going mad? What makes you think that? ;D)

*puts it on nearly endless wishlist of awesome things*

Joy! I found the picture I was thinking of, thank you. (It was this one (http://multipleverses.com/newcopper/displayimage.php?album=565&pos=1), in case you were wondering). It is nothing like how I tried to describe it in that last comment, but it is the one I meant!
