Augh, I've had this flu-bug type thing for the last week, and while it's mostly gone now, let me tell you, M.E. does not get on with having additional illness shoved on top of it. SUCK IT UP, M.E.; I NEED TO GET THIS COURSEWORK DONE.

Before I move on, can I just say a really HUGE thank you to everyone who put up with the whiny texts from me, and who joined me in texting inane and random things back and forth all day every day: you have kept me sane when members of my family couldn't communicate with me for fear of catching the death bug, and as my only links to staying sane, you were AMAZING to the extent that I cannot properly express my gratitude. ♥ okay, many, many ♥ (and to [livejournal.com profile] lo0o0ony_lauren, who had the joy of trying to organize something with me while my brain could barely remember what my name was, you are a better woman than I, my sweet).

ANYWAY. It was a great great thing that on Monday, the first day that I was basically incapable of getting off the sofa without falling down (no, really; it would have been hilarious had it not hurt), the complete League of Gentlemen boxset arrived on my doormat. And then it didn't leave my eyes until Saturday.

Could I find screencaps (FAIL), I would be doing a picspam as we speak. Well, er, not right now, because I need to go do yoga and make dinner to be ready for Being Human at 9 (hurrah!), but soon.

Mark has never heard of these communicashuns of which you speak

ISN'T IT AMAZE

Who are your favourite characters/which guy do you prefer? Obviously, my choice is Gatiss. :DDDD

YES

I don't have a fave guy (though thinking about it, I might lean towards Shearsmith), but I love these characters/storylines: Papa Lazarou, Pauline and the Job Centre crew and Edward & Tubs. So insaaaaaaaaaaaane and dark and so amaaaaaaaazing.

(My best mate Alex and I used to shout 'Daaaave!' and 'You're my wife now' at each other in Years 10+11. XD)

(Shearsmith always seems a bit moody to me, but ilhim because Marklhim. Their love is trufacts). Papa Lazarou terrifies the living shit out of me (yet I find him attractive?) but he scares me more in disguise as Keith, to the point where I actually have to watch him through my fingers. I love Pauline and Ross because I love Mickey: the first episode, where she stops him going to his interview? I was shrieking at the screen - only, er, quietly, because I was dying, but the outrage was no less for my pain. In the commentaries, Gatiss says that Mickey is a wife-beater DD: Everyone has to love Tubbs and Edward. WHAT'S ALL THIS SHOUTING, WE'LL HAVE NO TROUBLE HERE.

I also love the toad-mad Dentons and Chinnery. :DDD Er er er and in fact all of them, ever, hurrah. ♥

Papa Lazarou IS completely terrifying (especially at the start of the Xmas special). Pauline, Ross and Mickey = GENIUS. Tubbs and Edward rule, WANTED: A NO-TAIL TO MARRY OUR SON DAVID IN THE ATTIC.

Omg, they are awesome too. Yes, I did think when I was writing my list in the other comment that in actual fact I love every sketch they do and all of them. Season 3 of the show is not thaaaat good though.

I quite like season 3? I was a bit jarred by the change of pace at the beginning but then I really enjoyed it. The last episode was EPICALLY AMAZE, srsly.)

THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL WINS. Godddd, Victorian Chinnery is so attractive. *flails*

I didn't like the change of pace and structure. However, I did only see 2/3 of the series and only once. So maybe I am wrong? It is very possible.

I knooooow.

Tell me you have seen their live dvd, the first one? If not, YOU MUST.

I have not seen any of their live dvds, but if you mean the Drury Lane one then I believe Loz is planning to show me it when I visit her in half-term (something to do with Gatiss and Shearsmith playing a gay couple sent us both insane).

Have you not seen the end of s3 then? If not, go forth and do so now. You do not need university more than you need the last episode.

(my icons are now properly equipped for this conversation)

YES. YES. LIVE AT DRURY LANE. IT WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH AND FLAIL HARD.

No, I haven't. Also I asked for the show boxed set for Xmas but it never materialised. Woe.

The boxed set is only £16 on Play right now (ahh, lovely Play.com, what would I do without you?) and I would say DO IT: the commentaries spacked me right out with their wonederfulness and nnnngh etc.

Have you seen the film?

I just spent £1418 on my fangirly trip to NYC this summer. And I still have to get my books for next semester. I fear LoG goodness will have to wait. *cries into pillow*

Yes, I have. Some bits are not that brilliant but they are balanced out by some solid gold hilariousness.

(YES. LOOK AT HER. I LOVE HER. I WANT HER AND HARRIET TO BE GAY LOVERS AND ADOPT ME.)

FNNNG, money-spender! I jest, I too have been Mrs. Spend That Cash: Derren tickets, train tickets here there and everywhere (or, er, Leeds and Northampton), various dvds. WHO NEEDS FOOD, ANYWAY. IT IS FOR THE WEAK (but necessary for the week, see what I did thar?)

Also: what is up with Laura in the first two new eps of BSG? I haven't seen past Disquiet, so NO SPOILERS OKAY, but srsly. TAKE YOUR GODDAMN PILLS, WOMAN. STOP LETTING BILL ADAMA BE NAKED NEXT TO YOU.

I don't think the government realised this is the stuff on which I'd spend the other half of my student loan and grant. I hope they never realise. (Ahahaha, yes I did.)

I knooooow. It is NOT RIGHT. SOD OFF NEKKID BILL, EWWWW. Don't worry though, it all gets better, and that is all I will say (oh, apart from the latest episode will make you flail with woah HARD).

From: [identity profile] moogle62.livejournal.com
Psshh, I'm sure they wouldn't mind. You're learning how to, er, survive outside university, right? There we go then.

BILL BE GONE. DDD: I am glad to hear it gets better. I get fortnightly installments thanks to my father, so this time in two weeks I will be able to share the flailing.

NO, REALLY: NO MOAR NEKKIDAMA, THANKS.
