1x03 - Ghost in the Machine

Look, I am very sorry to all you non-Torchwood friends-list people, but this show is eating my brain. So it has come down to 'Moogie makes Torchwood posts' or 'Moogie esplodes'. And really, at least click the lj-cut and look at the pretty that is Jack, because...because...there's hot gun-teaching-lack-of-regard-for-personal-space angsty-Jack under the cut. And therefore, yaye.

Also, lots of my ramblings about the most recent episode! Um, definite spoilers for 1x03, but maybe 1x02 and 1x01 as well, because I can get on a roll yet I forget what happened when. I'm tired and Jack is too pretty. He is melting my brain.



Right. Let's begin by pointing out right now that squeeing, swearing and general gushings can be expected. Potentially with capslock/italics abuse.


- Jack spent a good chunk of this episode being a) angsty, b) shouty or c) screwed-up-flirty. Therefore, I spent a lot of this episode attempting to find a way to jump through my television screen and super-glue myself to him. Is this a bad thing?

And honestly, Torchwood team, how difficult is it to find one teenage boy in a grotty neighbourhood? Really? DO NOT MAKE JACK SADFACED. This sad face was rather quickly followed by a stomping off huff a leaderly spat at high walking speeds whilst growling various things about trying new plans because what he suggested first wasn't exciting enough for them. AND HIS COAT FLAPPED ABOUT AS HE MADE SHOUTY NOISES. AT OWEN. Life is good.

AND THEN THIS BIT HAPPENED:

And...and...somewhere around here is where I lost the ability to form coherent speech and resorted to clinging to the arm of the settee with white-knuckles whilst attempting not to melt.

I like to call this one "the post-sex picture". Also, I like to say JACK YOUR SMILE PWNS EVERYTHING. Smile more. *melts some more*

To sum up feelings that can't be expressed by pictures of Jack and guns and inexplicable hotness, here are some bullet points:

- Jack is still a hot, angsty person with much issue-shaped baggage. Therefore, I still love him. And always will. (ahahaha, yes, even against the word of missfoxie!!)

- I want to see Toshiko do something other than stare at a monitor and multi-task more than anyone should be able to. I know I'd get confused trying to give directions to three people whilst tracking something and trying to figure what what it was at the same time. She's pretty too!

- Owen. Owen Owen Owen. I don't like you. I know this to be true. But every so often, one of your crap-ass remarks will actually be funny and I will laugh at you. This pains me. Either be disliked or not, this limbo is irritating.

- Jack/Gwen. Hmm. I'm leaning towards the 'shag like bunnies against a wall and then be really awkward' road but under no circumstances do I want 'Gwen saves Jack from himself' love, I don't want LOVE between them at all. I want love in a sibling way, or love in a friendly way, only with added angst sex on occasion.

- I want Toshiko/Gwen now please.

- Jack/Ianto I could like, but again, I don't want to see Jack IN LURVE with anyone. I just don't want to see it. Unless, of course, it is done brilliantly well and serves a higher purpose than to show that JACK NEEDS LURVE. NO HE DOESN'T. Just make him shag various people, show me this, and then keep him the hell away from pining love or any other form of this.

Okay, okay, so I'm not adverse to some Jack fluff. Just not in the 'omg he needs (insert name here) to be complete'. I want 'he needs (insert name here) to fuck around with to realise how much he is destroying himself, after which he will not love them plzkthx'. If this happens, please, John Barrowman, make me not hate it.

- Ooooooh, the whole knife bit made me gasp. I really liked how that panned out. (And going through screencaps, I noticed Jack was white-knuckled trying to keep that guy back). Although I had a slight gripe in the form of that was a fit and healthy young guy standing and waiting to be attacked by a lumbering, overweight, older man. RUN FOR FRAK'S SAKE. *headdesk*

- Jack's little sunrise speech. Okay, I like seeing him on buildings. (See, that hug was very platonic to me. No sexings in that hug. He's just very....Jack.) Okay, Gwen needed something like that. But please, don't make 'Jack's weekly touching slightly-dull building speech' a regular thing. Although I could live with it, because HI JACK.

And I think that's it!

In conclusion, Torchwood = good. Jack = sex. Moog = sleepy.

I'm sure she is. When she's not doing the exact same thing because Mulder refuses to LEARN anything. ;-)
