First, an insta-rec! i've got an atlas in my hands by [livejournal.com profile] pidgeoned. I am head over heels for everything [livejournal.com profile] pidgeoned writes, but I think this might be my very favourite. For this kink meme prompt: [Andrew and Jesse] meet up halfway through the summer when they get some time off, to decompress and hide from the world, and get to know each other again. Also by [livejournal.com profile] pidgeoned and that made me weep everywhere at three in the morning when I should have been asleep: mapmaker, mapmaker, make me a map. For other embarrassingly enthusiastic recs, here is where I unleashed my insanity upon poor [livejournal.com profile] hold_onhope. I am sure that everyone has already read everything there, but NEVER MIND, READ IT AGAIN. The sad thing is, that is not even the entire list of all the fic I love. TSN FANDOM, WHY SO AMAZE?

asghfjfg okay, so, my internet is still all over the place but more irritatingly, I have got a pleasing combination of both writer's block and writer's paralytic paranoia that everything I write needs to meet the backspace button at once. On the other hand, I somehow managed to finagle the weekend off work, so I have totally got time to do this stupid thing to shove myself back into MS Word:

Help me get over stupid writer's stumbling blocks by leaving me a prompt in the comments? I will comment fic it up for anyone who asks! Any prompt! Anything! THIS IS A PITIFUL PLEA FOR HELP, YOU GUYS. I AM A SHAM OF A HUMAN. COME LEAVE ME A PROMPT TO VALIDATE MY EXISTENCE.

ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FUCKING FOUR

To put that into perspective, I watched TSN on Feb 1st. LIFE: RUINED etc.

Although I feel I should confess that when I went mental over Inception in August or whenever that was, well - okay, you see how there are 194 things tagged with Inception? And also how that is more than with the Supernatural tag? Yes, well, okay, the Inception tag overtook the SPN one in a week, shut up what is my life. #things that happen when you're on a year off from full-time education

But I think TSN has ruined me slightly more than Inception, and I have come to this conclusion based on the fact that I have written SIXTEEN THOUSAND AND UP words of fic for it. (I still haven't finished that Inception bakery au I was working on.)

Along those lines, I just went and updated my films/books/tv of 2011 thing and thanks to my job I have seen The King's Speech SIX TIMES and it made me remember I meant to do a post about my ~feelings~ about it, because every time I try to talk rationally about my ~feelings~ on it and also award season I come off sounding like a bitter crazy person who hates TKS and everyone in and that is like eons away from the truth (LET'S ALL IGNORE MY BAFTA LIVEBLOG, I HADN'T EATEN FOR EIGHT HOURS AND JUST WORKED A MENTAL SHIFT AND HAD BEEN TYPING FOR TWO HOURS, I DON'T THINK I CAN BE EXPECTED TO REACT IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN FROM MY GUT). w/e w/e, moving swiftly onnn.

ALSO HAVE YOU ALL READ THIS TSN/HARRY POTTER CROSSOVER AU BECAUSE IF YOU HAVEN'T GO AND DO THAT NOW, EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE TSN IF YOU HATE THIS FIC YOU PROBABLY ALSO HATE RAINBOWS AND GLITTER.

LOOK okay I have no excuse for what I have been doing for the last seven days other than to say that the Inception fandom is apparently both ridiculously prolific and unfairly talented. For example, have you read that amazing one where Eames subconsciously starts Arthur-proofing his apartment or maybe the inevitable have-sex-or-die fic where the whole team fights over who gets to fuck Arthur or this one where Arthur suddenly realises the extent of Eames' frankly ridiculous intellect and it's really hot or perhaps tu es la belle et moi la bĂȘte (where Eames gets stuck with the mind of an actual dog)? No?

And if you've not read Kobayashi Maru by [livejournal.com profile] hackthis, do so at once, and that goes DOUBLE for i am the hero of this story (don't need to be saved (aka: the one where Mal wakes up) by [livejournal.com profile] electrumqueen. Seriously.

There's even a FREAKING AMAZING BOARDING SCHOOL AU.

[livejournal.com profile] inception_kink has slightly taken over my life.

AND I HAVEN'T EVEN MENTIONED A COUPLE OF MY FAVOURITES. I am in the process of making a proper rec post for Inception fic but it will be HUGE and SPRAWLING, including the ones here and other ones that have made me weep and clutch the laptop to my chest with both a+ ficitude and raging jealousy that I will never write anything as frankly brilliant, and, and, THIS FANDOM: WHAT HAS IT DONE TO ME?

it is amazing and I have gone mental

It's a special week here at the house of Moog, you guys. What's so special, you might ask, and I can tell you: IT IS THE HOLMES BIG BANG POSTING WEEK, OH ~YEAH~

To prepare the proper Holmes-loving mood, as if anyone ever needs any help with that, lo! here are some daily fic recs until my posting date later this week*.

Day One:
A Terribly Poor Understanding of Love
[livejournal.com profile] candle_beck

Four days after his marriage, John Watson came to call on his old friend Sherlock Holmes.

They had tea. They discussed the weather, the density of the yellow pea soup fog drowning the city. The conversation lagged at several moments, and between them long silences grew like jungle vines, wrapping around their ankles, binding their wrists to the chairs. Holmes moved in small precise ways, his fingers light on his cup and saucer, betraying nothing. Watson didn't quite meet his eyes.

It was a formality--this useless drinking of tea. Watson was still quite angry with him. He spoke through thin lips, teeth showing with bare-bones savagery. Watson did not wish to be here. His wife had sent him.

Watson invited Holmes to dinner sometime over the weekend, and Holmes declined with a modicum of grace, claiming that he had a case. That was a lie, and one of which they were both frightfully aware. Watson pulled his hat brim through his fingers and said, "Well," and Holmes looked out the window, smoking his pipe.

Watson left. They didn't see each other for another three weeks.

[livejournal.com profile] candle_beck writes some of the best fic out there and so it basically goes without saying that this is freaking amazing, but I rec this one first because it contains what is one of my favourite lines in anything I've read, fic or otherwise. This is about Holmes and Watson after Watson's marriage, and how they handle it. I can't rec this enough.

*This plan has the fairly large flaw of showing you all this amazing fic only to then present my own less sterling offering, but w/e, fic all around!
