mooging: (Gilly overshoulder smile)

I just wrote all of this once and it wouldn't post, so I had to refresh the thing and start it again! *is not happy*

But I am happy really, because it's Half Term! A nice week off school! And I finished all the crappy notes/homework/crap off yesterday, so I have nothing to do this week apart from things I want to do. And I'm going to my Aunt's house which will be lurvely, and Bleak House starts on tv with Gilly! I do have to read a bit more of Tess of the d'Ubervilles for school, which I thought I'd enjoy because Thomas hardy wrote it but it's just not appealing to me and he's trying to really make us sympathise for Tess - and that irritates me. I like books where, ok, the author has opinions on the characters and there is a set way that you 'should' feel towards each of them in order to be conducive to the plot but there is room for the reader's own opinions. With Tess, it's more "Feel sorry for her! Like her! VICTIMVICTIMUNFORTUNATEEVENTS! *glares* And Roman Polanski's film version? So so dry. And so so bad because of that that it starts veering into being as bad as (imo) Midsummer Night's Dream with Kevin Kline. *shudder*

On a less ranty note, because Bleak House is starting on Thursday *OMGsquee!!*, there's been tons of publicity for it. I've got 3 tv mags because there were interviews with Gilly in them and we get two more this weekend because they come with the newspapers so I really should have this week's tv memorised soon! But they all came with pretteh pics of Gilly, so all is good. And she's on the radio on Monday, Richard and Judy on Tuesday and then Bleak House is on Thursday/Friday and then twice a week after that! Twice weekly Gilly! *dances*

This way to Lady Dedlock... )

Ha. Ha. Hahahaha! *cracking up* I just did this lurvely genius vampire name generator found a-here: http://www.emmadavies.net/vampire and these were my results:

The Great Archives determine you to have gone by the identity:
Goddess of Scandanavia

Known in some parts of the world as:
Leto of Wraiths

The Great Archives Record:
A needy and violent spirit.

Hee. Strangely accurate!

Anyway. I did this thing in English where we had to pick an ordinary event and write it as something extraordinary; Meredithy, do you want to read it? I'll post it on here if you do.

Everything going ok, and I had Biology homework that OMG I understood! How rare!

English is wonderful and I'm actually even enjoying the poetry analysis side of it, something I'm not usually too keen on. Although the last poem we did was teh shite. The rest have been genius though. We took inspiration for this thing (see above) from a poem called Blessing, by Imtiaz Dharker: http://www.erzsebel.com/clock/clockarchives/003330.html (go read it, it's fabulous, it has all these religious overtones while talking about this burst water pipe that is just so ordinary but it becomes almost sacred in the way she writes it) and I actually liked my end result!

Anyway, I'm teh leaving now, to eat.

(Meredithy, I'm still alive! I was just feeling really grotty when I saw the schexy people on your lovejournal so I didn't reply...as to replying, I should make a start on new!email today...unless I get distracted by Viggo fangirling! *kisses for you*)
