Wow, every year I am surprised at how long this goes on. I AM A TERRIBLE PERSON. I KNOW THIS. Also I keep thinking about being old and watching this and it meaning more to me then because it'll be a list of people I'll have grown up watching, and then I get sad. SO THEN I TURN TO BEING A TERRIBLE PERSON SOME MORE.

Next! Adapted Screenplay. IF TSN DOESN'T FUCKING WIN THIS, I AM GOING TO BE PIIIIIISSED. Presented by Julianne Moore (NO I DON'T LIKE YOU, I WILL NEVER LIKE YOU). I might like her dress though?

Adapted Screenplay:

- 127 Hours - Danny Boyle and someone I didn't look up in time to catch the name of (AWFUL SENTENCE, I AM AN AWFUL PERSON)
- The Social Network - Aaron Sorkin (PLEEEEEASE LET THIS WIN, THIS SCRIPT WAS AMAZING)
- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (okay the writers' names did not stay on screen long enough for me to even have a chance at spelling them.)
- True Grit - Joel and Ethan Coen
- Toy Story 3 - Michael Arndt (I might have spelt that wrong. LOLOL -SPOILER - SPANISH BUZZ)

Aaaaand the winner is (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE).... THE SOCIAL NETWORK HOORAY HOORAY HOO-FUCKING-RAY. Aaron Sorkin like high-fives Andrew Garfield or smth. "in normal circumstances I would be more excited about this but sitting in the seat in front of me is one of the Beatles." lol forever. The TSN people all seem to be sitting off the side near the wall. THANK GOD THIS WON. Praising David Fincher, (okay what is with Andrew Garfield, he looks super jetlagged - he wasn't there for the thing yesterday, so maybe he is?) OKAY Aaron Sorkin has finished, but he thanked Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg too.

BEST FILM CLIP: THE SOCIAL NETWORK. Nicely timed. WHY ISN'T THERE AN AWARD FOR FILMS THAT MOST SUCCESSFULLY RUINED LIVES, BECAUSE THIS FILM WOULD WIN ALL OF THEM. STOP USING THE BREAK-UP SCENE, MY HEART CAN'T TAKE IT.

Best Director - presented byyy IS THIS TILDA YES IT IS, SHE LEARNED TO SPEAK ITALIAN WITH A RUSSIAN ACCENT YOU GUYS, IS THERE ANYTHING SHE CAN'T DO HOLY FUCK SHE IS WEARING A SUIT.. WITH A GIANT BOW ON THE BACK? "tonight in English with an English accent" I LOVE HER.

Best Director:

- Christopher Nolan - Inception
- David Fincher - The Social Network
- Danny Boyle - 127 Hours
- Tom Hooper - The King's Speech
- Darren Aronofsky - Black Swan (I might have spelt that wrong)

ALL OF THESE GUYS COULD WIN.

Aaaaaand the winner is... DAVID FINCHER AH HA HA! I WAS ONLY PRETENDING TO BE IMPARTIAL I AM SO PLEEEEEASED. David Fincher's not her so here is JESSE EISENBERG AND ANDREW GARFIELD TO COLLECT IT, THANK YOUUU. "I'm gonna say something first" "okay, I'll go second". LOOK AT THEM. ugh this is embarrassing for me to just be splamming all over the place but W/E W/E I HAVE TYPING FOR A WHILE. LOOK AT JESSE LOOKING UP AT ANDREW BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE STAGE.

Leading Actress - presented by Gerard Butler. So sexy doctors believe he may be able to reverse the menopause OH SHIT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HIS HAIR? WHAT IS THAT??

Anyway. He jokes about Rosamund Pike trying to reveal the bafta winner early.

Best Actress:

- Annette Benning - The Kids Are All Right (NOT SEEN THIS, I WANT TO SEE THIS)
- Natalie Portman - Black Swan (PLEASE WINN)
- Noomi Rapace - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (okay so I need to read these as well but essentials I AM MISSING THIS EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE)
- Julianne Moore - The Kids Are All Right (STILL DON'T LIKE HER)
- Hailee Steinfeld - True Grit (okay so I spelt that wrong earlier)

Aaaaand the winner is ...... NATALIE PORTMAN, HOORAY! Okay, so she's not here either (SERIOUSLY PEOPLE YOU ALL MAKE IT TO THE OSCARS) but here is Darren Aronofsky (must have spelt that wrong) to collect it "he's to blame for why she's here and why she's not here" oh right, she's super pregnant and can't fly. I FEEL BAD NOW. He says she's the most dedicated and focused actor he's ever worked with. Wow, she was in every single scene and shot. I should have noticed that. SERIOUSLY THOUGH SHE WAS AMAZING.

Okay this must be Best Actor. Presented by Amy Adams. HER HAIR IS SO PRETTY. Dude, I should have hit post in that last best film clip, this is so long now.

Best Actor
- Colin Firth - The King's Speech (they used the "don't take liberties" scene.)
- James Franco - 127 Hours
- Jeff Bridges - True Grit (why are we even listing these other people when Colin Firth has obviously won?)
- Javier Bardem - Biutiful (haven't seen this but I want to)
- Jesse Eisenberg - The Social Network (okay, I know I am spectacularly biased but this was my favourite performance of the year, it's fucking amazing. It's the "why didn't you show me this letter" scene)

OH WHAT A SURPRISE, THE WINNER IS COLIN FIRTH. I am legit super pleased for him though, he is lovely and his performance was amazing and he completely deserves it. Lots of cheering for him. He says "I like coming here." He says every important turning point in his life has hinged on the banal and the day he met Tom Hooper he had to postpone a routine/uncomfortable medical examination but as the work went on the working methods turned out to be just as invasive as the exam would have been. I LOVE THIS MAN. He thanks Tom Hooper and the writer, and the rest of the cast, and the Weinsteins, and his voice coach, describes the script as "middle-aged male bonding", his parents "for absolutely everything", his family. OH SO LOVELY.

lolol Jonathan Ross "that was an unpopular win". FUCK THERE IS NO TIME TO HIT POST I AM GOING ON.

Best Film presented by the super cool Samuel L. Jackson. I'VE HAD IT WITH THESE MOTHERFUCKING SNAKES IN THIS MOTHERFUCKING AWARDS CEREMONY.

Best Film

- Black Swan
- True Grit
- The King's Speech
- The Social Network (pleeeeeeease win something, pleeeease win this, you have RUINED MY LIFE)
- Inception

Aaaaaand the winner is.... THE KING'S SPEECH, OH FFS. IT IS A GREAT FILM BUT IT IS NOT THE BEST FILM. ANYWAY. I sound bitchy and horrible. I LOVED THIS FILM I JUST LOVED OTHER FILMS MORE. But I still loved this film! I have seen it like six times at work and the end is still amazing. FUCK IT I AM HITTING POST NOW AND DEALING WITH THE REMNANTS OF THE AWARDS IN ONE LAST LACKLUSTER POST.

I LOVE THAT YOU KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE TILDA BEFORE HE SAID HER NAME. I WAS ALL "TILDA SWINTOOOOOOON" AND DOING A DANCE IN MY SEAT, LIKE, SECONDS INTO THE INTRODUCTION. And then my Dad and his gf side-eyed me for knowing it was her just from who she's worked with. TILDAAAA. Her suit. I loved it, and I was thinking it was pretty normal considering it's her, and then there was that shot from behind and it was like RANDOM GIANT BOW. Figures. I love how she didn't seem like she was reading off an autocue (same with James McAvoy I meant to agree with that).

I loved the ones where I honestly couldn't tell who was gonna win, it made me feel weirdly anxious even though I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN MOST OF THESE MOVIES. I never usually get so into award shows, I swear this is mostly your influence. BUT ANYWAY as soon as Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield stood up I knew you'd be dying. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY INTERACTED WITH TILDA SWINTON.

♥ Colin Firth. I can't judge whether TKS was really the best film this year not having seen the other ones nominated but man, I am really quite tempted to just watch TSN and Inception in one day soon and just like, get it done. THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS.

THAT IS WHAT THIS FANDOM DOES

IT RUINS PEOPLE'S LIVES

MY LIFE HAS ACTUALLY BEEN RUINED BY THIS FILM. LOOK AT THEIR HANDS ON THE AWARD. LOOK AT THEM.

I HAVE BEEN RUINED.

DUDE WHAT YOU HAVEN'T SEEN INCEPTION??

OKAY TOMORROW YOU ARE WATCHING THAT AND TSN, I WILL BROOK NO MORE ARGUMENT ON THIS POINT. GET IT DONE, YOUNG LADY.

AND YES WHEN JESSE EISENBERG AND ANDREW GARFIELD STOOD UP I DID A SPACK THAT CAN NOT BE RENDERED BY TYPING. UGH UGH LOVE FOREVER ETC.

And Tilda's suit! And her hair, I don't think I mentioned it because I was typing at the speed of light, but kajsfhjdsgfjs she looked so fucking amazing. My mother, whom I just bumped into downstairs while I was getting some food (NOM NOM FOOOOD), was like "WHAT THE SHIT WAS THAT BOW??". No-one knows, mother. No-one knows.

TKS WAS NOT THE BEST FILM THIS YEAR. IT WAS GOOD BUT IT WAS NOT THE BEST. Although in terms of how many people keep packing in to see it in the cinema where I work, I think it's done the best. I mean, Potter and Twilight aside. But, like, even counting those two - like, it's still getting sold out now, and it's been out for ages. ALTHOUGH: MOST POPULAR FILM IS NOT THE SAME AS BEST FILM.

w/e w/e, okay, going to read your other comments now!

OOPS. YEAH, I HAVEN'T, HAVE I NOT MENTIONED THAT? I probably made some comparison when talking about holding back from watching TSN, 'cause it's a similar sort of thing - I really wanted to see Inception when it came out but never got around to it, and then everyone was obsessing and the hype got built up so much that it made it too much of a big deal, and then it all died down and I wasn't sure what to do. But all the clips they showed tonight kind of reignited the excitement I had about it in the first place, plus I've had a copy downloaded for like, MONTHS, so. It's going to happen.

WILL I DIE IF I WATCH IT IN THE SAME DAY AS TSN THOUGH? WHAT IF THEY DO BOTH LIVE UP TO THE HYPE FOR ME? THAT MIGHT BE TOO MUCH TO TAKE.

Anyway lmao WHAT THE SHIT WAS THAT BOW, srsly, but for some reason the fact that she wears ridiculous things is (just one of the many) reasons I love her. TILDA. HAIR. SUIT. VOICE. aldsaj;sdlksdajda

I get what you mean about popular =/= best, like, it was clearly INSANELY popular and so I think that's basically the reason, and, idk, even when that's not what these sorts of awards are supposed to be about, I guess it's not surprising.

FINE WATCH ONE PER DAY. I WENT MENTAL OVER INCEPTION IN, LIKE, SEPTEMBER OR AUGUST OR WHENEVER IT WAS AND I THOUGHT THAT WAS AS MENTAL AS A FILM COULD SEND ME.

CUT TO TSN.

I WAS SO WRONG.

I really liked the bow? IDK IDK I CAN'T QUITE COPE WITH LIFE AGAIN YET AFTER THE BAFTAS, I'M STILL REELING.

Also re: Inception, I came out of that like :OO *falling down everywhere* and immediately needed to see it again, so maybe that's another reason to watch them on different days, because I think they both demand a second viewing instantly. Inception more so, though, because with TSN I was like "CAN'T COPE WITH LIFE OR SEEING THEIR FACES, HEART ON THE FLOOR, BRB".

I feel like a horrible person for being all like "KING'S SPEECH AGAIN, WHAT A SURPRISE" because I genuinely did love and enjoy it, I just. If the film that is sweeping the awards doesn't have my whole heart, I get pissy about it. Idk, like a few years back when LOTR was winning everything, and I hadn't seen them yet so I was just like FUCK OFF and then I watched it and was like BRB SOBBING FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER DDDDDD:

But I do like The King's Speech.

I'M STILL KIND OF REELING TOO, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY, I JUST NEED TO LIKE GO SIT QUIETLY SOMEWHERE FOR A BIT.

Yeah, I feel like if I watch them both close together and DO really enjoy them and have strong feelings, it's just going to be like an overload and also CONFUSING.

I don't think you should feel too bad, I get it - like, obvs if there's another film that you liked more then you're going to be disappointed if another one wins over it, and even MORE so if it wins like everything ever because it seems like the movie you liked could have won just a couple of those, or whatever. ~ELOQUENCE~

You know what, I actually didn't like 'Inception' much. I got so bored that I went off to read instead. I cannot explain why I was not a fan.
