Meanwhile, I haven't slept properly for about a month and have gone appropriately crackers, so humour me with STOP: MEME TIME. A quick look back through my LJ tells me I haven't done these two in a couple of years, so that obviously means I can roll them back out again.

2) Um, I think we both know the answer to this one. Sherlock Holmes: RDJ style! Or maybe Half-Blood Prince, for that is the most epically canon Harry/Draco thing ever. I particularly enjoyed all the shots of Harry, like, ~stealth-stalking~ Draco around Hogwarts. Harry Potter: The Boy Who Lived To Fail At Being Subtle.
3) Youuuu lived in Japan! I thought that was so cool.

Date: 2011-01-21 01:49 am (UTC)6) Weirdly, I was just thinking about this yesterday - random scenes that stick in my head for no particular reason. So, let's see (and these are really random, I know):
In Dark Knight, when the police are trying to get Harvey (who they think is Batman) to safety, and the Joker turns up in that creepy truck to sabotage the run -- the scene where Lt. Gordon yells to the driver of the armored car, "Mount the curb!" and he drives up onto the sidewalk. I have no idea why, but I think about that scene all the time.
The third episode of Sherlock, where Mrs. Hudson tells a very bemused Lestrade about how she learned to 'do her colors' from that dead tv hostess: "Like, I should never wear cerise, apparently. Drains me."
The scene in Big Fish where Edward Bloom first sees his future wife at the circus, and time freezes around them. I know it's massively cheesy, but ... I've always wanted love to feel exactly like that.
And the question on where I would go and what I would do: Ireland. First I would walk, and walk, and walk, and then I would find a place on a gravelly shore, and I would sit, and I would write.
AND YES DOCTOR WHO. I adore Nine. And six seconds after Jack appeared on-screen, I thought, Where are there men like him? I need to find me one, and marry me one, because DAMN. XD

Date: 2011-01-21 05:50 pm (UTC)- If Sherlock moved all his mental rubbish (THE SKULL/THE HEAD IN THE FRIDGE etc) out of the flat, John would actually be disappointed.
- When Sherlock goes out on a case, John stays up until he gets back in. He knows it's ridiculous and he has to work in the morning and that Sherlock is a grown-man (sort of), but he still does it.
- Sherlock was the first thing since the war that made him feel alive.
also: HOMG BIG FIIIISH, that is one of my favourite films. And I love that bit in The Dark Knight - and the bit where the truck flips over but the Joker is just standing there, and the shot of him just before he turns around to face the bike. kjshdjsgjc
Ireland: I've been once that I remember (I might have been when I was really young) and it was really green. I know that sounds a bit mad, but that's what I remember most! Sitting on a gravelly shore and writing also sounds super lovely.
NIIIIIINE. I always thought he was my Doctor (I like Ten because David Tennant is, you know, not hard on the eyes, but I can't stick him as a character) but then Eleven is so amazing I am confuuuuused. BUT I ALWAYS LOVE JACK. Irl John Barrowman is amazing as well. :DD

I don't know, when you watch that film, life sort of seems a bit wonderful and miraculous, just as it is. And there's nothing that I don't love about Dark Knight; I must have watched that film at least a thousand times now, and it's amazing every single time. Oh Heath, how we miss you.
Haha, I've been to Ireland once as well, years ago, and I remember that about it, too: very green. Weird as it is to say, I think it's one of the only countries I've been to that was absolutely exactly the way everyone had always told me it was. I saw a photograph of downtown Dublin a few weeks ago, and even though I was only in Dublin for a few hours and it was ages ago, I recognized it instantly. There's just something wonderfully unique about that country. Love it. ♥
Ten is so very, very pretty. *_* I haven't actually met Eleven yet, but I have a feeling Ten is going to be (to me, anyway) a sort of transitional character between Nine and Eleven ... Nine definitely feels more solid as a character, and is totally my doctor so far (though I think I'm probably not allowed to pick one yet. XD)

kjhsdjhgsdfjhdsgfj Adelle DeWitt, I can't even. She is legit the most bamf hbic ever.
- The way she acted towards Topher in season two was mostly because together they were both the ones responsible for what was happening - it couldn't have happened if she didn't give the order or if he didn't work the tech - but she couldn't let herself be angry at herself without really thinking about what she was doing meant, so Topher got the brunt of it.
- She loves Topher more than she has ever loved anyone.
- She didn't sleep with Laurence Dominic until Safe Haven.
- Part of the reason why she enjoyed running the Dollhouse was because being among the Actives was like having an alphabet of friends.
- She really does loathe Arizona.
SORRY THAT WAS THE ADELLE AND TOPHER SHOW, BUT ISN'T THAT WHAT DOLLHOUSE WAS REALLY ABOUT? I have gone so Dollhouse wrong I can't even.
edit: also I feel the need to add there was more Adelle DeWitt canon going on there but I took it out because I am writing a Dollhouse big bang at the moment and YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THAT. :p

And re: characters: Mulder is obviously awesome but I was always a Scully girl; Juliet Burke is SUPER awesome - I have seasons 1-5 of Lost, and I couldn't watch it as it aired b/c I don't get the channel it was on, and I watched seasons 1 to the middle of 3 in about a week and a half because I was really really ill and couldn't get up but then when I got a bit better I stopped watching? CONVINCE ME TO GO BACK AND WATCH MORE. I think the problem is that it wasn't that I didn't like the characters, but that a lot of them just bored me. AND I HATE CHARLIE SFM. Juliet was amazing though. Also, I don't remember my "I fancy girls too!" moment: I don't think there was one, I think I just - knew I fancied girls. b) I NEED TO REWATCH THE SECOND SEASON BEFORE I CAN DO THIS: I haven't seen it since last April and also I spent most of that time weeping into a pillow about Adelle and Topher (WHEN SHE SLAPPED HIM I DIED etc), so my memories of the a+ness that was Echo are a bit foggy but I shall be back soon with my personal canon thoughts! Here is a thing off the top of my head before I think about it more later:
- this one isn't so much Echo-specific but all the dolls - none of them hate Adelle. Caroline might, but Echo doesn't: it's something left over from being in the doll state and completely trusting, and trusting in the Dollhouse staff, and then especially Adelle, because, like, to the dolls, she was a kind of mother. (you don't really want me to go into my theory about how the ~house was a family~ because a) it's creepy with the whole pimping thing and b) it is ridiculous but I have it, idek). AND that's why they all chose to stay in the Dollhouse with her ~Epitaph-era. Despite what their original personalities might think, they still have the imprint-architecture, and they also still have the part of them that trusted her, like they trusted their handlers.
SO RIDICULOUS: THAT IS WHAT I AM.

b) I legit think most of my Skandar or Tilda personal canon is something we have talked about already? HERE HAVE THIS, IT IS SORT OF THEM BOTH:
- Skandar was intimidated by Tilda before the turkish delight scene and afterwards he was intimidated and besotted.
- Skandar and Will have at least fooled around a little. (likewise Will and Ben, but you didn't ask about them). like, maybe they were at a party or something. idek. (Will/Skandar happened after a spin-the-bottle scenario and Will/Ben did not)
- Skandar has always been a little bit jealous of Georgie for being younger than him in the first film because they both got good reviews for being kid actors but Georgie's were slightly better, and she was younger, so it rankled.
- Tilda knew exactly what she was doing when she gave Skandar THE NECKLACE.
- Tilda is fully aware of the TREE OF CONVENIENCE.

I guess if I watch the pilot or even the first few episodes, it doesn't mean I then have to stop watching movies until I've watched every episode of it ever. I'm just being weird. MOVIES, um, everything that Tilda has ever been in? The Deep End, Thumbsucker, Female Perversions, Teknolust, possibly Stephanie Daley, oh, and I'm rewatching Ma Mére, and also Quills and Peter Pan. I've probably forgotten some, too. :/ SO MANY. And I was going to watch some Criminal Minds, too.
