I am the astronaut in the sky
May. 27th, 2010 07:57 pmThis is still not the post I am going to make about what is going on in general in my life (as disappointed as you all are to realise that, I'm sure) but what it is can basically be summed up by this text conversation I had with
twicetheheart31 (my texts are in green):

By which I mean, help help I have been watching Supernatural. I finished Season 4 last night. GUYS GUYS GUYS WHY DID NONE OF YOU EVER FORCE ME TO WATCH THIS SHOW BEFORE? I mean, I read fic for it and I vaguely kept up with what was going on without actually watching it (do any of you do that with tv shows? Added bonus of looking at pretty picspams but then I always end up spoiled for stuff when I do eventually get splammed into proper fandom mode. I SHOULD REALLY LEARN, RIGHT?). But then! I bought the s1 boxset because it was supremely cheap in HMV a few weeks ago and I'd really been meaning to give it a proper go instead of having to turn the tv off in fear watching reruns late at night, and then the next day I bought seasons 2-4. OH YEAH.
I find that when I talk about SPN with another female, the first thing I tend to ask, because I am a) ridiculous and b) quite shallow apparently, is whether they are a Dean girl or a Sam girl. I am so far over on the Dean girl side it is frankly retarded but I do spend a lot of time making grabby hands the screen and going OH LITTLE SAMMY WINCHESTER whenever Sam is around. Or, er, ogling Jared Padalecki because I am not blind. The Winchester family wins at being attractive, right? Right.
I really should start making reaction posts because inevitably this situation happens and I want to splam about this show but I can't remember all the things that have sent me wrong. Mainly though, I want to talk about these things:
1. The Winchester brothers are totally in love. (I don't even care, I can wincest or not wincest, they are just in love, however you want to read it. THEIR LOVE MAKES ME GO SPLAM.
2. CAST-FREAKING BAMF-IEL. I went in to s4 with an open mind about his presence because although the entire internets seemed to have formed the consensus that he was stupidly awesome like the sun, you know, the internets can exaggerate. BUT THEY DIDN'T. I love him in increasing and unexpected amounts. EVEN THE OTHER ANGELS SHIP HIM WITH DEAN, OKAY. And that bit in When the Levee Breaks where Dean is all, yeah, whatever, divine plan, sign me up now and then Castiel is like SAY IT - I made a really, really inappropriate noise. And shame on me for ever thinking that the line "I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition" would be a bit lame. BECAUSE IT WASN'T.
3. The women. I should probably do a different post to talk about the women and my thoughts there, because I feel like I should give them a bit more consideration than to just shove in some words in a post that is clearly mostly me going FNNNNG WINCHESTERS, but mostly I like them.
4. Is it me, or have I seen half of these episodes before but on the X-Files? An episode about luck, a Groundhog Day episode, the two different POVs episode - and I swear there are more that have obviously left my brain now I actually want to talk about them. Not that I'm complaining! Both are awesome! And, honestly, anything that brings up the X-Files earns my instant love. Same as if something I'm watching mentions Cagney and Lacey, or Ellen Ripley. Let's hear it for first fandoms!
ANYWAY: Supernatural! Your thoughts? Favourite episodes? Favourite HALP I'M REALLY SPLAMMED moments? Share with me.
So I've seen four seasons in under a month. Well done me? I think yes.
In other, unrelated to the Winchester brothers news, I continue to be a ridiculous specimen of humanity. I have a giant bruise on my hip. How did I get this bruise? From a shampoo bottle. A shampoo bottle. I also have a deeply attractive rash all over my legs that is slowly creeping its way up over my knees. I think it's from my moisturiser. IT IS SO ITCHY. I don't even care if this is tmi, MY LEGS ARE SO ITCHY. ITCHY ITCHY ITCHY. (I'm sorry if now you are itchy.)
Also, I started playing Professor Layton and the Curious Village on the ds, and I'm enjoying it v. much. On the flipside, it did make me remember fairly quickly that I am spectacularly rubbish at certain types of puzzle. Currently I am trying to work out the longest route through a town. IT KEEPS SAYING I AM WRONG, BUT I WILL DEFEAT ITpossibly with the help of the internet, shut up.
How is possible that I can have nearly 50 userpic spaces and still need more? A mystery worthy of Professor Layton if ever there was one. Possibly I should not use icons of shows I don't watch a lot just because the icons are really pretty, but hush with your logic, I know not of this foreign concept of sense.
To round off this entry, let's shove an optional meme up in here: top 5 lists! Ask for a Top 5 of anything and I will oblige. Go go go!
