If you built a temple, would you inscribe in massive letters somewhere inside it that you had NO OUTSIDE INFLUENCE in making it, or, alternatively, clearly state all your influences and how you came up with your ideas, so there would be no ambiguity and therefore no reason for poor, long-suffering students 2000+ years in the future to write about what could explain your architectural style when all they really wanted to do was drop art and archaeology as a subject module? BECAUSE YOU SHOULD.
