I'm deducing from various aspects of your post that Anna Chancellor was in the dramatised version of Tipping The Velvet?

Because I've read the book (and Affinity, and Fingersmith), but I haven't seen the TV version - I didn't even know there was one until after I'd finished the book, actually. XD

Oooh, another Sarah Waters person! I love her writing. I think Fingersmith is my favourite all round book of hers (I've read the same three as you) but Tipping the Velvet has my favourite characters.

Not Nan, because she annoyed me. Kitty, because just yes, and Diana, for...um...slightly less highbrow reasons.

I think I'd have to say Fingersmith was my favourite too, but I really enjoyed Affinity, except it was so tragic!

I want to read Night Watch at some point. And see the TV-versions of things. XD
