“I love you being a Veela"
All the things I have eaten today:
- an advent calendar chocolate
- three Celebrations Snickers
- one Celebrations Maltesers
- one Celebrations Milky Way
I am going to eat:
- some chili, with some cheese on it
SOMEONE STOP ME, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. (Feeling very large today)
In other, non-glutinous news, I sent Christmas things off sometime last week, so I assume you should all get them relatively soonish? idk. Blame the post-people, not me. I have done all I can.
ALSO, I think Brideshead Revisited may have stolen my brain and/or my integrity. I got the mini-series for my birthday and have since tried to absorb it into my bloodstream (unsuccessfully D:). Charles and Sebastian make me go UNFG with all their love (and all their touching, it is amazing) and, and
Sebastian crying on the stairs made me go all wibbly (and seriously, Anthony Andrews is winning my heart). ALSO when he invited Charles to Venice, I actually just burst into tears there and then, because I am a sap.
Look at this and try to deny their wonderousness (loooove):

I have also had a bash at writing fic, but it was rubbish and I sent it to

Anyway. Instead of doing any Classics tonight (ODYSSEUS, JUST PLEASE FUCK OFF), I shall have my chili, watch Oliver Twist and read some Harry/Draco, because that is my wont. Shhh. (Does anyone have any Harry/Draco recs, by the by?)
Did everyone see Oliver Twist last night? How hot was Julian? Very hot. :D Moog approves.

Nnnngh, I am also in two minds about Penelope. Although that could be because my all-consuming HATE for Odysseus just taints everyone else in the entire epic. Yesterday I wrote a six page summary of Book 12. I had to stop myself from typing in I HATE ODYSSEUS AND IF I WERE WRITING THIS STUPID EPIC, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED WAAAAAY BEFORE I HIT TWELVE SODDING BOOKS.
I am glad you like your card! :DD

Well, I had read Atwood's 'The Penelopeliad' before we did the Odyssey in Classics so I tend to keep that idea of Penelope in my head. For a start, it makes things much more survivable (I do not think that word is, in fact, a word, but I'm still gonna use it.) I'm gonna have to revise the Odyssey for the Classics exam in January. That and Aeschylus' 'The Oresteia', Aristophanes' 'Birds' & 'Lysistrata' aaaaaand Plato's 'Protagoras'. FUN.

Nnngh, I am divided on the subject of Aristophanes. I quite like him, but then in other ways SO DULL. I'm currently doing Peace and Wasps. We did Peace last year. It has a flying dung-beetle. Wasps involves BIZARRENESS. Idk, they're quite good fun, I suppose. I've not done the Aeschylus or the Plato things, so as such I cannot pass judgement D:
I am watching BSG S3 though! I've just seen Exodus Pt.2. Oh Laura you so fine (seriously, New Caprica!Laura made me go UNFG a lot. Her hair is so pretty under these oppressed, tented living conditions!). Adama still makes me want to hit him with things (like a wall), but that wasn't likely to change.
Oooh, you know, I just had a thought. I'll be coming to a St. Andrews' Open Day next year, if they do one (I assume yes, but I could be wrong): do you think it would be possible for us to do meeting? I would ask if I could crash your student digs (ahahaha, 'digs') for a night, but I don't know whether a) halls says yes to these things or b) I would be in the way/wanted. MEETING, AT LEAST?

I somehow got out of really reading those Aristophanes plays so I don't really have a judgement about him, but yes he does seem odd. The Oresteia is pretty great, but then you really can't go wrong with the ol' Agamemnon-Clytemnestra-Orestes myth. Or with a play that has such fantastically bloody imagery.
We have Open Days pretty much every single Wednesday of the year. You are very much WANTED and YES YOU CAN STAY WITH ME. My halls does say yes to these things and they will even feed you. Come see meeee, it will be a joyful occasion. *beams*
